Stourport Hockey Club receives £ 1,000 donation

The Stourport Hockey Club received a donation of £ 1,000 from the Arnold Clark Community Fund.
The Kingsway-based club recently launched a âback to hockeyâ program so membership can resume throughout the spring and summer.
The much-needed donation will allow their 450 members to benefit from an experience “ as usual ”, despite limited income and fixed costs and overheads.
Martin Tucker, President of Stourport Hockey, said: âMany sports clubs, community groups and charities across the UK have been hit hard by financial constraints in these unprecedented times. We are therefore very grateful to the Arnold Clark Group for their generosity in making this donation to the Stourport Hockey Club.
During lockdowns over the past 12 months, the hockey club continued to engage with players by providing online training and international sports information.
The Arnold Clark Community Fund was established in March 2021 to help local charities and community groups in need of financial assistance due to the Covid19 pandemic.
Paul Humphries, General Manager of the Arnold Clark Fiat Motor Store, said: âWe are delighted to support the Stourport Hockey Club through the Arnold Clark Community Fund. The main purpose of the fund is to support our local communities and after a particularly difficult year for the club it is great to see that this money will be used to repair and support the teams and coaches at the club.
The Stourport Hockey Club, established over 125 years ago, and part of the Stourport Sports Club, offers hockey for all ages and levels, from 8 to 80 years old.
