Paris 2024 unveils the Olympic hockey competition and the calendar of dates

Paris 2024 has unveiled the structure of the competition for the first time after it was approved by Olympic leaders.

Hockey will be hosted at the Yves-du-Manoir stadium in Colombes, where work on the site began in January.

As part of the Paris 2024 plan for greater visibility of the finals of all team sports over the last weekend, the women’s and men’s finals of hockey, handball, football, beach volleyball, volleyball, basketball and water polo will take place over four days, between August 8 and 11.

The hockey finals will take place on August 8 and 9, starting at 7 p.m. local time.

Matches will reschedule from Saturday July 27 in the Ile-de-France region of Paris. Each day of competition will see matches start at 10:30 a.m. local time, while the final matches will end at 10:30 p.m.

The calendar of Olympic competitions, event by event, will be unveiled at the end of June. The men’s and women’s hockey competitions will each feature 12 teams.

Thirty-two sports will be on the program for 19 days of competition from Wednesday July 24 to Sunday August 11.

From the opening day, three team sports will open the Parisian competition: handball at the Pierre Mauroy stadium in Lille, rugby at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis and football in the seven cities hosting the men’s and women’s tournaments (Paris, Bordeaux, Lyon, Marseille, Nantes, Nice and Saint-Etienne).
