After a year of closure and a $ 2.3 million renovation, the Oak Park rink in Stockton announced its reopening on Friday.

The city said the project included replacing the ice rink cooler, all under-ice piping, and new dashboards around the ice rink.

“It’s a fantastic project and a great feeling to ensure that everyone can continue to enjoy the rink for decades to come,” said Tina McCarthy, parking and venues manager for the Department of Economic Development of Stockton.

The rink being the only rink in San Joaquin County, it serves as the rink for various organizations such as the Colts Youth Hockey Organization, the St. Mary’s High School hockey team and the local figure skating chapter. .

The ice rink is also open to the public and offers public skating sessions for all ages on Saturdays and Sundays from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

General admission costs $ 12 per person and skaters 5 and under enter the rink for free.
