Penguins +170 puck line (-1.5)

This will be Sidney Crosby’s third comeback and he made an impact in the Penguins’ last game, scoring a power-play goal in a losing effort. The Penguins’ offense has to kick in, but they will face a solid goaltender for the third time since Crosby’s return. They will face the Montreal Canadiens, who have a decisive advantage in net with Tristan Jarry – who has a great shot to bounce there against a bad offense. The Penguins have struggled lately, but they’ve recovered their captain and face a team with bigger flaws. The puck line on Pittsburgh looks like a great target today.

Top row stack

Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Montreal Canadiens

Sidney Crosby ($ 7,400) – Bryan Rust ($ 5,900) – Jake Guentzel ($ 6,500)

We will continue with the Penguins in the DFS section, as the game we get with the Penguins front row looks too tempting to ignore. Sidney Crosby started his comeback slowly and his price tag remains high, but that should only help keep the property low. He’s already impacted the power play in his last game and elevates the Penguins’ front row advantage in places like these.

Jake Guentzel is the one Penguin winger I wouldn’t want to leave out today when shopping for DFS. He’s averaged 3.16 shots over the season and has scored goals in both games with Crosby back in the lineup. Bryan Rust should also be included. He’s collapsed a bit since returning, but so has the entire Penguins offense at times. His advantage against a team from Montreal, which holds the league’s fourth-worst penalty, is as good as any and his price helps keep this stack’s overall pay low.

Pittsburgh’s front row should have plenty of runs against a team that took the seventh most penalties in the league. They are a well correlated row to start the lists tonight.

Superstar to target

Connor McDavid, Edmonton Oilers vs. Winnipeg Jets ($ 9,500)

We have a big slate, so I can excuse anyone for wanting to take a more balanced approach when selecting stallions to line up, but you’re taking a risk by avoiding Connor McDavid. The Jets have owned the Oilers lately (six straight wins for Winnipeg since last season), but Winnipeg is also a team with a lot of flaws defensively. They enabled a conversion rate of over 35% to opposing power plays and that kind of inefficiency will put you in trouble against a historically good Oilers power play, which scores 42% of the time. McDavid’s price may have finally reached the point where he’ll take people away from him in DFS, especially with the Jets’ narrative surrounding this game. I like paying for Connor, who should be ready to end this streak. losses against a team with weaknesses in special teams.

Value in case of infringement

Pavel Buchnevich, St. Louis Blues vs. San Jose Sharks ($ 4,700)

Buchnevich fits perfectly into the Blues’ top six and has taken advantage of his presence alongside Vladimir Tarasenko most nights. The Russian winger has now scored six points in his last six games and averages 3.0 shots on goal, which is a fantastic rate for a player priced below 5,000. His usage has remained stable , because the Blues have tended to use their first two lines in a more balanced way now that Tarasenko is back in full health. From a recent and long-term production standpoint, there aren’t many better options at the winger today and Buchnevich can be used as part of any Blues stack. Which can be had for a lot less than most of the other more expensive options today.

Goalkeeper

Jacob Markstrom, Calgary Flames vs. Buffalo Sabers ($ 8,500)

The Flames are the second favorite on the DraftKings Sportsbook today, with odds of -180 at the time of writing. They face a Sabers team that just picked up an emotional victory over Pittsburgh two games ago, but are also just 2-6 in their last eight games. Markstrom looked fantastic on his last outing, stopping 42 of the 44 shots faced and should be recovered after failing to secure the win in that game. Its price is expensive, but that should keep its property low. This is a great option for those who want to pay and get some really good upside down and ground fantasy in the net today.

Scott Wedgewood, Arizona Coyotes vs. Columbus Blue Jackets ($ 7,100)

We don’t want to get into trouble, but tonight’s Coyotes goalie is cheap and faces a team that is inconsistent at best with the Columbus Blue Jackets. Scott Wedgewood has done well in two starts over the past week, compiling 61 saves on 65 shots faced. Columbus comes in after losing four straight games and with a power play advantage of less than 20%. Wedgewood is inexpensive and will be low held today, making them the perfect type of flyer to target if you are doing multiple queues at large GPPs.

Value on defense

Rasmus Andersson, Calgary Flames vs. Buffalo Sabers ($ 4,300)

I like targeting the Flames for value purposes because they have a great game against struggling Buffalo and have a lot of role players who can hit for big nights and easily outperform their small salaries. Andersson still has good power-play exposure and comes into this game at a pace of 0.5 points per game, which is above his career average. The Swede doesn’t shoot as much as other elite defenders, but he is entering the “positive regression ahead” zone having now played 16 games without a goal. Ultimately we have a player with an average of over 2.5 blocked shots + shots on goal, which offers increased potential due to his exposure to special teams. It’s a good night to go hunting with this defenseman from the Flames.

Power Advantage Defenders

Torey Krug, St. Louis Blues vs. San Jose Sharks ($ 5,800)

The Blues have calmed down in the win column, but they maintain their ranking as the league’s second-best power-playing unit. Torey Krug has benefited tremendously to fantastic ends this year due to his presence in the first unit with nine points in 10 games, four of which were with the men’s advantage. The Blues might not be very popular today, but you can easily pair Krug here at under $ 6,000 with an elite forward like Vladimir Tarasenko ($ 6,400) and get a solid advantage against a team from the Sharks who started the year well defensively, but also have a fairly average goaltender tandem.

Shayne Gostisbehere, Philadelphia Flyers ($ 4,800)

Gostisbehere continues to be the fantastic darling of the start of the season. The former Flyer looked like he ended his career last year when he could barely stay on the ice, but he became an every night player and a first-unit power-play scorer for Arizona. It averages 2.9 blocked shots + shots on goal and operates at just under a point per game clip, but is continuously available for a price of 5,000 on DraftKings. The Blue Jackets allow over 33 shots per game, so using Gostisbehere as a pure value option is fine again.
