Starling Marte (left quad tightness) expects to avoid IL
Mets OF Starling Marte said Wednesday he was feeling better and did not expect to land on the IL due to left quad tightness. (Source: Anthony DiComo on Twitter)
Fantastic impact: It would be a massive break for the Mets. With Pete Alonso considered day-to-day, having Marte out for an extended period would impact their attack. Marte is hitting .277, with seven home runs, 33 RBIs and eight stolen bases in 2022.
Kris Bryant (back) took dry swings for the first time on Wednesday
Rockies third baseman Kris Bryant finally swings a bat for the first time since returning to the IL on May 23. (Source: NBC Sports)
Fantastic Impact: There is still no specific timetable for his return. But at the very least, he’s swinging a baseball bat. That, after all, is what Colorado gave him $182 million for. He has played 17 games this season.

Max Muncy could return to the lineup on Thursday
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said there was a “good possibility” that Wednesday was the end of Max Muncy’s rehab mission and he could be in the lineup as early as tomorrow. (Source: Jack Harris on Twitter)
Fantastic Impact: Muncy wasn’t very productive coming out of rehab, but the Dodgers still seem happy with the progress Muncy has made. He hasn’t been good in 2022, hitting just .150/.327/.263, but hopefully this time on the IL has been good for Muncy’s elbow going forward.

Clayton Kershaw (basin) back on Sunday
Clayton Kershaw is expected to return Sunday against the Giants. (Source: Jack Harris on Twitter)
Fantastic impact: Kershaw was solid in his last rehab outing for Single-A Rancho Cucamonga, allowing a run in four innings. He made his last start on May 7. Walker Buehler is scheduled to start on Friday and Julio Urias on Saturday with Kershaw for Sunday’s series finale.

Pete Alonso (hand) considered day to day
It is reported that there are no breaks or broken bones for Pete Alonso. His hand is just swollen. (Source: Anthony DiComo on Twitter)
Fantastic impact: “I’m a bit surprised in a good way at how it feels today,” Alonso said. He is considered day-to-day for now as he is not part of Wednesday’s roster.
